I can’t believe it’s almost August! Where did the summer go? I was blessed to be able to go on a fantastic vacation earlier in the summer, but I still have the itch to go on a long weekend adventure before the warm weather is over. We thought a lot of people might feel that way or may not have been able to go on a vacation yet.
So, I’ve teamed up with some other bloggers to bring you a Summer Adventure Giveaway! We thought you might want a chance to win some money to fund one last adventure on us before Fall is here. One lucky winner will receive $500 in PayPal cash to use as they wish. Who couldn’t use some extra cash right about now?
Terms and Conditions: We will be giving away $500 PayPal cash to one lucky reader. The giveaway starts 7/25 at 8PM EST. It ends on 8/30/15 at 11:59 PM. The winner will be notified via Email no later than 9/5/15. This giveaway is open WW. Winner must be 18 years or older to enter. Void where prohibited.
I’d love to hear how you would use the $500 if you won! Enter for your chance to win via the links below, the more you complete, the more chances to win! Good luck!
I am back from an extra long holiday/birthday weekend! I honestly didn’t think many would notice, so thank you for letting me know you missed my posts! I have tons to talk about in the next couple days, so please keep checking back in.
The pre-birthday part of my time off consisted of a trip to a blow dry bar (I will be blogging about this experience later in the week), lunches with girlfriends, plenty of time relaxing on my deck, fireworks and pool time. The weather was absolutely amazing, as you can tell in these iPhone snaps.
My birthday was great! Most of my family came over the day before and hung out at the house, we swam in the rain and wore mustache tattoos! My mom brought me a fragrant arrangement of herbs and flowers in a vase I made her in grade school (which miraculously held water) and my sister brought me a bouquet of sunflowers.
On my actual birthday, I really wanted a good steak, so we went to a local steakhouse. We had planned to go out downtown over the weekend, but then decided we didn’t want to deal with traffic on our days off, plus the Furry convention was in town, which makes everything even crazier!
The food turned out to be amazing! Plus they had copper mugs, so I was able to have an authentic Moscow Mule! Awesome!! I was fascinated by the knives at the restaurant, so much so, I had to take a photo! I never saw knives that balanced on the edge like that (perhaps I need to get out more!)
I received a ton of amazing gifts from my husband and family. My sister had just returned from a beach that bears my name, so she bought anything pink with my name on it! My brother, among other things, made me an adjustable necklace to use with a pendant and earring set his girlfriend gave me. My mom gave me a couple things, one of which were delicate dragonfly earrings made from waxed paper. Not sure my photo conveys how delicate they really are, super cool!
My husband bought me a keyboard for my iPad, so I don’t have to drag my laptop into bed with me to update my blog at night! He also ordered me a design layout of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment! Love it!! Can’t wait to hang it in my office! And his big gift was a seat and trip to a blogging conference, so I can learn more about blogging. Looking forward to attending this fall.
Thanks so much for your support of my tiny part of the Internet! I have a bunch of reviews coming up and much more planned for the rest of the summer. I’d love to hear about your long weekend! Let me know in the comments.
I usually love Essie nail polish, but I bought the color Blanc and it didn’t even last a day. I even used my proven method. The only thing I can think of is maybe I made my color layers too thick? I’ll give it another try and see what happens. I really liked it while it lasted. It’s a very matte white, think whiteout on your nails., which is what I wanted.
I had an all time high of page views and individual visitors on the blog this week, so thank you for checking it out! I would love to hear your thoughts on the blog and the types of things you would like to hear about. Feel free to email me at email@example.com or contact me through any of my social media accounts via the buttons on the top right. Also, please let me know if you are having any problems commenting on the blog.
I am slowly getting the twitter thing. I knew what twitter was and it’s basic premise, but had never really used it. It’s taking awhile, but I am getting there. I would love it if you would follow me there!
I found out about a school in the Philippines for mermaiding! Just take my money!
This Spring my sister and I had a private makeup lesson with Lisa Johnson from Kiss and Makeup On-Location Professional Makeup Artistry. Lisa is a well-known Pittsburgh makeup artist who does on location makeup for weddings, photography sessions and also offers beauty concierge services.
We had so much fun while Lisa made up one side of our face, explained her techniques and we duplicated the look on the other half. She shared her tips and tricks and we even got a spray tan! It was a great time and I highly recommend the private lessons. I would consider myself pretty well-versed in makeup application and I definitely learned from Lisa. She tailors the private lesson to your experience level which is great.
In addition to private lessons, Lisa also holds group makeup classes. I missed her last one, so I was delighted to find she is offering one this coming Sunday June 22. I can’t wait to attend, especially because it includes a brow workshop and false lash application! As of Friday, she had only 2 spots left, so contact her soon if you want to sit next to me! I can’t wait and will be sure to blog about it once I attend!
Hope you had a great weekend! We had some weird weather on Saturday, first it looked like the pic above and then a torrential rain storm came in, then back to sunshine. Bizarre! Sunday was absolutely gorgeous! Fabulous, top down, sun roof open kind of weather. Finally! We have a couple projects underway around the house, which will probably show up on the blog at some point. Now that the weather seems to have finally turned, they will hopefully get finished up soon. Enjoy your week!
