My last post was in February and shortly after it, I got sick and honestly, haven’t felt right ever since. It’s been a long year and it isn’t over yet! I know it could definitely be worse, I haven’t lost any loved ones to COVID, I am still employed, I am blessed to be able to work from home, but all in all, it’s been a pretty crappy year so far.
A couple things have helped me get through it, my weighted blanket, Amazon Prime, Netflix and I think I will be relying on those things to get through this back half of 2020 too.
I’ve pretty much been stuck in the house due to my less than stellar immune system, so I am beyond sick of looking at the same stuff in my house and I don’t really have a need for much in the way of new clothes or accessories. I realized that I was in the habit of going shopping every weekend for the last 20 plus years. It didn’t necessarily mean I bought something every time, more that I went out and window shopped or out right shopped. Not being able to do that, left a big hole in my habits. I haven’t really been able to find anything else to fill it. Online shopping, while in some ways easier and more accessible, doesn’t quite fill that void of checking out new wares or trying on a bunch of things you normally wouldn’t try.
Reading, other hobbies, don’t quite give you that same interaction. I think I talk myself out of buying things online quicker than I do when in person shopping, which is odd and maybe just me. While good for my bank account, it makes me not have much to share on a blog where I share things I’ve recently bought!
One thing I did recently buy were Halloween pajamas. Does a grown woman need Halloween pajamas? No, but being I spend half my time in pajamas these days, I figured why not. I do have to say, I love them and they are super comfortable. I bought them a size bigger than normal because I wanted to be able to throw them in the dryer without worry and in general, I like my pajamas looser. Mine are from Old Navy but do not seem to be online anymore. (Boo Yah pajamas for whole family) Kohl’s and Target also have plus size Halloween pajamas (and family pjs) this year if you are in the market for some.
What have you been doing to get through the past few months? I’d love to hear about in the comments! Stay healthy!
