{"id":3017,"date":"2018-02-26T07:00:32","date_gmt":"2018-02-26T12:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/?p=3017"},"modified":"2018-02-27T19:07:17","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T00:07:17","slug":"federal-galley-pittsburgh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/?p=3017","title":{"rendered":"Federal Galley Pittsburgh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had been waiting for the opening of Federal Galley on the NorthSide of Pittsburgh\u00a0 for what seemed like forever!\u00a0 It&#8217;s been open a few months and I&#8217;ve been able to check it out a couple times since it opened.\u00a0 I thought those of you who are local to Pittsburgh and haven&#8217;t had the chance, might want to see what it&#8217;s all about!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Ext.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Ext-207x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"207\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Ext-207x300.jpg 207w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Ext.jpg 316w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 207px) 100vw, 207px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Federal Galley is the second concept of this type in Pittsburgh.\u00a0\u00a0 The first is Smallman Galley located in Pittsburgh&#8217;s Strip District neighborhood.\u00a0\u00a0 Federal Galley is four restaurants in one location.\u00a0 There are four very different cuisines available and a communal dining room and bar.<\/p>\n<p>I absolutely love this idea!\u00a0 It is perfect for groups of friends who all have different dietary needs or just can&#8217;t agree on where to go!\u00a0 You can each order from your choice of restaurant and still sit together and enjoy each other&#8217;s company! One car, one trip, four choices!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Interior-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3026\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Interior-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Interior-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Interior-2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You pick from one of the four, either <a href=\"http:\/\/ellugarpgh.com\/\">El Lugar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michiganandtrumbullpizza.com\/\">Michigan &amp; Trumbull<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/supperpgh.com\/\">Supper<\/a> or my fave, <a href=\"http:\/\/provisionpgh.com\/\">Provision Pgh<\/a>.\u00a0 Order and pay at the restaurant of your choice, go grab a cocktail at the bar (or order non-alcohol at the restaurants), pick a table with your companions and your food is brought to you!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3025\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-191x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-191x300.jpg 191w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int.jpg 288w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All the restaurants have their own staff and kitchens.\u00a0 There are chalkboard menus showing what&#8217;s featured at each above their registers.\u00a0 All the staff has been super friendly during my visits and always willing to answer any questions I have about the food.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Fed-G-Provision-Menu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3027\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Fed-G-Provision-Menu-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Fed-G-Provision-Menu-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Fed-G-Provision-Menu.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve only been to Federal Galley during the work day, so I haven&#8217;t partaken of the bar yet, but those who have tell me it&#8217;s excellent.\u00a0 Water is provided on each table, along with glasses and silverware can be found either at the restaurant window or at a nearby communal area with napkins and trash cans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-General.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3032\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-General-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-General-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-General.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also only been here in the Winter, but can&#8217;t wait to visit once the outdoor patio area is open.\u00a0 It looks amazing so far!\u00a0 And even in the Winter, the large garage style windows let in tons of light which all of us native to Pittsburgh know is necessary!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-Bar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3028\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-Bar-300x290.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-Bar-300x290.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.saltyblonde.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Federal-Galley-Int-Bar.jpg 499w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are a few small tables, but most are family style large tables with lots of seats so you can share your experience with others.\u00a0 There is also a bar top along the ordering windows with stools.\u00a0 You can see it a few photos above.<\/p>\n<p>Now what&#8217;s really important, the food! I haven&#8217;t tried all four yet, but I can say so far, my very favorite has been Provision Pgh.\u00a0 They have a lot of choices, but my obsession is their Provision Fries!\u00a0 They are magical!\u00a0 They actually told me their secret on Instagram.\u00a0 Shhh!
